Finance Director

The City of Seaside is seeking a Finance Director who has a can-do attitude, a proven track record in all facets of California municipal finance with the ability to “see the big picture”. Reporting to the City Manager, the Finance Director manages (6) FTE and all services, activities, and programs of the Finance Department. The Finance Director also oversees the City’s Information Technology Division. The salary range for this position is up to $158,495 (Under review) and is augmented by a competitive benefits package including CalPERS retirement. The City also offers a relocation reimbursement program for new executive level employees. Requires a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field, and seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience, including supervisory experience, preferably in municipal administration or in a finance office and at least four (4) years of government finance experience. A master’s degree and/or CPA license is preferred.
